Bridgeport Village transforms to a winter wonderland filled with holiday magic
BRIDGEPORT VILLAGE TRANSFORMS INTO A WINTER WONDERLAND
Fashion, Lifestyle Shopping Center Delights Guests with Seasonal Sights, Sounds & Traditions For All Ages
November 17, 2023 — The transformational refresh of Bridgeport Village, Oregon's preeminent fashion and lifestyle shopping center by CenterCal Properties, is drawing to a close, but not before lending its magic to all things holiday. From a sweeter-than-ever holiday home for Santa to cozy fireplaces and covered outdoor dining, guests will discover special touches and unique moments around every corner this winter.
“The holidays are a favorite time of year at Bridgeport Village, and this year promises to be more enchanting than ever,” said Elena Arosteguy, general manager of Bridgeport Village. “With our refresh nearly complete, we are focused on creating a true winter wonderland with spaces for guests to gather to share those special moments and form lifelong memories. From seasonal music to festive meals to gifts for the most discerning recipients, Bridgeport Village is a can’t miss holiday destination.”
Santa’s Gingerbread Cottage
A property-wide refresh couldn’t possibly stop at the door of Santa’s holiday accomodations so even the jolly old elf himself will enjoy a sweet new space for the lead-up to Christmas. This year, he will be taking gift list requests inside of Santa’s Gingerbread Cottage, festooned with a playful gingerbread façade. All are invited to Santa’s Arrival Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. when Santa will parade through the shopping center at 10:30 a.m., with Mrs. Claus and his North Pole friends in attendance. The celebration will also include cookie decorating, musical entertainment, festive crafting, holiday card making for Meals on Wheels People recipients and more.
Given the demands on Santa as his big night approaches, reservations for a one-on-one session are required and may be made online at bridgeport-village.com/events. He will be available for photos daily, from November 24 through December 23: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays.
On December 24, Santa makes a late-afternoon departure for the North Pole and will be available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Select Sunday mornings, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., are set aside for sensory-friendly, or Silent Santa, visits. Additionally, family pets can get in on the action with Santa Paws pet photos, select Tuesday evenings, 4–7 p.m. A $20 deposit accompanies each reservation and is applied toward photos and/or digital downloads commemorating the visit.
Insta-worthy Moments
Whether seeking a traditional family photo around a Christmas tree or capturing candid moments with twinkling lights and elegant decor, guests will find a range of festive, seasonal backdrops to choose from. The new Village Green, enhanced with canopied and fireside seating areas, will be draped with garland, and stars will shine overhead along the pathways. Plus, it can’t be the holidays without a traditional tree, and Bridgeport Village will decorate its 35-foot tree at the corner of SW Boones Ferry Rd. and 72nd Avenue, next to Crate & Barrel.
Winter Pop-ups
For more sparkle and shine, Smith Teamaker welcomes Bridgeport Village guests to its Winter Pop-Up shop, designed to emulate the sensation of stepping into its signature shimmering holiday packaging. Inspired by vintage ornaments, the retail pop-up offers a wide selection of high-quality teas and related products perfect for holiday giving. The Smith Teamaker Winter Pop-Up will be open during Bridgeport Village shopping hours and offer holiday gift sets, including its Morning Light, Silent Night and Ho-Ho-Hoji-Chai flavors, among others. Located in one of the center’s new kiosks, this jewel box of a shop will remain open into early 2024.
Black Friday, Small Business Saturday
At Bridgeport Village, shoppers can take advantage of all the holiday shopping events, from Black Friday deals from national brands to supporting Small Business Saturday by picking up gifts from local makers and artisans at Tender Loving Empire, Will Leather Goods and more. Plus, certain retailers are partnering with local nonprofits for Giving Tuesday, including Gorjana, which will donate 10% of its proceeds from online and in-store sales to Toys for Tots.
All-Season Dining, Shopping and Entertainment
Bridgeport Village’s refresh includes a revitalized Village Green that is the center of many upcoming holiday activities and events and that has been updated to allow for four-season enjoyment. New covered canopies and fireside seating include retractable wind and rain screens, keeping shoppers cozy even in midst of winter.
Recent additions to the center’s dining scene also ensure everyone can get a taste of holiday magic while enjoying the warmth of a heated patio, from Japanese comfort food at Tanaka to American classics at Shake Shack. And recent additions to the retail scene, from Smith Teamaker to Cotopaxi and Pandora, mean even more ways for shoppers to fill out their gift lists this holiday season.
More Holiday Happenings
While Santa may be a main draw during the holidays, Mrs. Claus is setting aside time for the little ones, as well. On Wednesdays, Nov. 29 through Dec. 13, Barnes & Noble will host Mrs. Claus Storytime at 11 a.m. She will read to children from her favorite holiday storybooks. Afterwards, she’ll be joined by North Pole friends on the Village Green to meet and greet her fans.
On weekends throughout the holiday season, Bridgeport Village hosts Sounds of the Season, a program of strolling holiday musical entertainment and community performances. On Saturdays, noon to 3 p.m. and 3–6 p.m., and Sundays, 3–6 p.m., professional carolers and musicians will enhance the seasonal ambience with favorite merry melodies. Performers include the Village Carolers, Plaid Tidings and Yuletide Belles. Local school band and choir directors seeking performance venues are encouraged to reach out the Bridgeport Village to schedule use of the community stage.
More holiday events are in the works and will be added to the event calendar on a regular basis. For the latest event information, visit bridgeport-village.com/events.
